Know Your Headache

Headaches are big pain (no pun intended) for many people. There are tension headaches, migraine headaches, and cluster headaches. Many times headaches are the result of stress. However, sometimes there are underlying medical conditions that cause headaches.

Below is an excerpt from an article I read online at the Brigham and Women's Hospital website. It provides a comprehensive overview of what headaches are, the type of headaches, causes of headaches treatment and more:

What is a headache?

A headache is pain or discomfort in the head or face area. Headaches vary greatly in terms of pain location, pain intensity, and how frequently they occur. As a result of this variation, several categories of headache have been created by the International Headache Society (IHS) to more precisely define specific types of headaches.

What aches when you have a headache?

There are several areas in the head that can hurt when you have a headache, including the following:

  • a network of nerves that extends over the scalp

  • certain nerves in the face, mouth, and throat

  • muscles of the head

  • blood vessels found along the surface and at the base of the brain (these contain delicate nerve fibers)

The bones of the skull and tissues of the brain itself do not hurt because they do not have pain-sensitive nerve fibers. Read More

Cleaning House

Cleaning house can be very therapeutic when you are experiencing stress. It's a great stress management technique that can help take your mind off your problems. Not only is it a great stress management technique, your home will love you afterwards! The smell of freshness through out the house alone is a great stress reliever.

My children sometimes do things that can work my nerves if I let them. I ask them to do things and its as if I'm talking to myself. My oldest leaves his clothing and shoes all over the house and then comes and goes like my house is a hotel. Well, fortunately he was gone for the day and I was tired of looking at his mess. It was beginning to truly stress me out. So, not only did I clean up the entire house, I sanitized my bathroom and kitchen based on some research I've done about keeping your home clean of germs. Of course, nobody can rid their home of germs 100% but you can at least make it so that no sickness causing germs are lurking around. I'm in a process of writing a very comprehensive e-book about germs which will be available to anyone who makes a purchase on my Stress Relief website. I should have it completed by April 1st.

So, if you are experiencing a little stress and need an outlet, go turn on some music and get to cleaning!

New Beginnings

So, here we are in 2009. I can not believe we are almost to 2010.

With the close of another year is a time for new beginnings. Forgeting things that are behind and pressing forward to a brighter future. Well, of course your future won't be too bright if you live in the past. I think that people stress themselves out by holding on to old "junk"

Bishop TD Jakes once said, "Most people have an affair with their junk. People who are always saving things for a rainy day are having an affair with shoulda, could, woulda." Man, that's powerful. Think of all the stress you can avoid by just getting rid of your shoulda, coulda, woulda's?

I hope that in 2009, people will look at the fact that they are still alive (many didn't make it), still healthy (many got a bad diagnosis), and still employed (many, MANY were laid off) and take a moment and think of a cause to pause.

That's it. I'm out. Hit me up if you want to be a positive individual. If you want to be a stresser, keep stressing! Sometimes, it's your choice. Peace

Stress & Bitterness

Jealousy and Envy breed bitterness and bitterness will cause you stress. It's important to not allow jeaousy and envy to cause a root of bitterness to spring forth. Eliminate jealous and envy, eliminate bitterness. Eliminate bitterness, eliminate stress. Studies have show that stress can kill...heart disease, heart attacks, anneurisms. Is it really worth it to hold on to such things that could potentially cause death??? I don't know who is reading this or who I may be helping out there but please know that I started this blog so that people could get informed and to also contribute by informing others about the dangers of stress and ways to help manage stress. That is why this forum is not audited. I want people to freely express themselves. Now of course, I'll have to remove foul language and anything that is disrespectful to others but for the most part, this forum is for people to really dig in and express their concerns, thoughts and ideas about stress and stress relief.

Even if you can not elminate all stress from your life, you can manage it. Managing stress is vital. Remember, there is always someone more worse off than you. Any thoughts??
